Job Description:
As a Product Engineer of PICA Product Development (PPD), you will be the pivotal link between the customers' designs and the successful manufacturing of high-quality printed circuit boards. Your primary responsibility involves transforming customer CAD data into a comprehensive manufacturing package. This data may originate directly from our clients (Direct Customer) or be provided by the application engineers of PMS (PMS Business). In either case, your task is to ensure that all aspects of production are meticulously planned and executed to meet both time and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. CAD Data Analysis and Capability Assessment:
  • Upon receiving customer CAD data (from direct customers or PMS application engineers), perform an initial review of the existing quotation.
  • Assess the feasibility of manufacturing the product within the desired timeframe and quality standards, while ensuring the company's capabilities meet production demands.
  • Proactively make recommendations to enhance manufacturability, reduce costs, improve quality, and shorten lead times. Suggest design modifications or alternative manufacturing approaches as needed.
  • In cases where the conclusions from the product engineering review differ from the quotation engineer's manufacturing plan, coordinate an internal meeting under the supervision of the Director of Process Engineering to resolve discrepancies and align strategies. Provide feedback to the direct customer or PMS application engineer if necessary.

  1. Manufacturing Package Development:
  • Generate detailed work instructions, tooling, programming, test protocol and fixture requirements based on CAD data.
  • Develop a comprehensive manufacturing routing (process steps) that aligns with customer specifications and production capabilities.

  1. Quality Control Planning:
  • Collaborate with the Quality Department to establish a control plan.
  • Ensure that the manufacturing process adheres to quality standards and customer requirements.

  1. Feedback Integration and Continuous Improvement:
  • Collect and analyze feedback from manufacturing personnel during the production process.
  • Make necessary adjustments to tooling, programs, and instructions to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to optimize manufacturing processes and improve yield.
